Ode to The Lunch Lady

Anyone who is a regular “Bridge” traveler will know who this post is about.

Farewell Lunch lady,

we will miss you so.

Whatever your path may be

I wanted you to know…

You made us laugh,

you made us cry.

We couldn’t wait to hear about the staff… 😉

or about the ‘hey Mom’ kids who would try

to outdo themselves each time they saw

their favorite lunch lady

hopin’ maybe she’d made some fresh slaw.

Well, or something like that…

Hey, a poem can’t rhyme all the time with every line.

Just like life gives us no guarantees just choices

things we face–we’ve shared in this space…

although many of us have never heard each others voices

or seen one another face to face.

No matter, blog buddies we will remain

in spite of life’s curves along the way.

“We’ll leave the light on” will be the refrain,

and in my thoughts you will stay!
