With the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy and so much coverage of his life and work, I was thinking today of what the life of Ted Kennedy has taught me.

First, and foremost: that we are all much more than the sum of our mistakes. Second, that true religion is exhibited in its purest form by looking out for the underprivileged, subjugated, forgotten and foreigners. And third, that we are much more than what our genetics or family legacy may dictate.ted_kennedy
