I have shared about how proud we are of our kids and their progressive minds and their bravery in the face of inequality or discrimination. Our daughter did an excellent job putting together a project for school! I am going to post here some of the newsletter she created. Young people like our kids certainly give me hope for a world where love conquers hate. I especially like the tag line we came up with:
Marriage is a civil right– not a religious rite.

I’m afraid that religion has a stronghold around the necks of our nation’s politics — a tight, oxygen-starving, hold. It’s sad that it doesn’t do what it was set up to do.
Oh so very true Arnie! And if only it did accomplish what true religion is… our world would be a better place.
So beautiful – you must be so proud of your daughter. Thanks for sharing this – the younger generation gives me hope.
We are very proud of her! Thank you MakingSpance! The younger generation gives me hope as well!
How exciting! Yes, we are raising our children to be strong, and to really fight against the discrimination that they see in their world, maybe more than others of their peers.
Our daughter feels isolated at times, in that she doesn’t know any other children in our local community who have two same gender parents raising them. However, she is a fierce advocate and has found her own voice over the years. It is so inspiring to watch her grow!!!
Thanks for sharing this with us!!! Will you be in DC in October?
I know our kids may feel a little isolated at this point here because we just moved to a new state. But they are loving and well adjusted and fierce advocates for all types of equality! Thanks for sharing Vanessa!
What is in DC in October??
