I took my step-daughter to the DMV for the much anticipated teen rite of passage of getting her learner’s permit. First of all, I have gotta say that the DMV could use some stick ups! (No, not that kind, this kind.) Second of all, we live in a new age of driving when you see this up on the cork board with all the other guidelines for potential drivers.
This will be our 2nd teen driver an the household and I did not see this directive 2 yrs. ago. Although, it was already our rule that they can’t use their cell phone while driving. So… just when you thought it was safe to drive… 
Plus… anyone else just a little alarmed at how this “shorthand” is becoming its own “language”?
lol 4 better or worse it’s here to stay. BTW my 19 yr old daughter has the store record with txts. I think last month she had over 11k!

my ex got my daughter a cell phone years ago – she’s only 12 now. she had a computer, cell phone, iPod and all other imagineable gadgets before i even had a cell! one month she charged almost $200 in downloaded tunes over and above. i thought it was funny, but he sure didn’t. one time at the mall i texted to ask her where she was, and did she and grandma wanna meet for lunch……her response? “wer gina by rumthin thn y?”. i LMAO! (special just for you, wendy). the danger i have is texting, emailing, blogging and IMing make me lazy to phone conversations. i can now do four things at once. it’s probably a good thing the state took away my license to drive for awhile! loves and loves and more loves, along with many prayers for the four of you at this tenuous rite of passage period!
hey annie! sounds like how 2 of our 3 kids get hooked up! my wife’s kids get all the goodies from their dad. my son gets as much as we can provide for him… hard to keep up!
