A few days ago I posted on an unusual video clip I came across with Senator Gordon Smith making comments regarding gay marriage rights and possible similarities faced by Mormon ancestors. I didn’t make much sense of it then (although I did receive some helpful comments), but now apparently enough people have seen or heard of this that: “Oregon Sen. Gordon Smith is apologizing for creating confusion by linking the debate over same-sex marriage to the persecution of his Mormon ancestors for practicing polygamy.” In this article Senator Smith also states that he: “continues to support protections for gays and lesbians, including Oregon’s new domestic partnership law, although his comments caused a stir among gay rights advocates. A spokeswoman for Basic Rights Oregon, the state’s largest gay rights group, said Tuesday the organization was glad Smith issued a clarification of his comments.”
Well, Sen. Gordon Smith pretty much called it when he stated (at the beginning of his video clip) that his handlers would not be pleased with what he was about to say. Sometimes it turns out we should just go with our gut instinct on things.

people need to think before they speak, and in his case it will have political ramifications
The only time hetro men think with their ‘gut’
is when they are hungry. 95% of hetro men
don’t know when to just shut up.
HUGS!!!!!
queerunity: True… on both counts there!
Laurie: chuckling…
Seems that is the case, huh?
