I have been wondering how many domestic partnerships have been registered here in Oregon since the Oregon Family Fairness Act went into effect. I had not seen any numbers in any BRO updates lately, but I did see a little snippet tucked into an article in the Oregonian recently.
“The domestic partnership law went into effect Feb. 4, and so far 2,065 same-sex couples, from every county in the state, have registered for partnerships. About 70 percent of the couples are women, and nearly half live in Multnomah County.”

That is quite a few. Good for all of you. Now come to California and get married. lol
That’s a good start. Now, all the couples need
to come forward and take that step. I’m so
wishing the best.
HUGS!!!!!
i wonder what would happen if couples from oregon got marriage licenses in california and went back and sued oregon.
dit: thanks! and don’t think we haven’t thought about that!
Laurie: Exactly! I figure the more who register for the DPs the more Oregonians will see how many of its citizens need these protections!
queerunity: You know what? that is an excellent idea! I wonder of Basic Rights Oregon has thought of that… hmm….
