A while back I posted about one of the new and interesting changes that I discovered with WordPress blogging–one is knowing how people found you and from where they clicked to reach your blog. I was intrigued by one of the incoming clicks from 5/13 and followed it. It was a blogger who accidentally stumbled on my “Top reasons I am glad I am a lesbian” series. She was evidently a heterosexual, and stated that she did not find any humor in my personal musings contrasting my former life with my much preferred current pairing with a woman. She concluded in her post that I was merely “man bashing.” Well, my disclaimers may not have done enough to communicate that my purpose was not man bashing, but no matter what I may have written to counter that assumption, I have a feeling that her response may have been the same.
What is it about the fact that (in many cases) when a person finds out that a woman is a lesbian they assume she is a “man hater”? I read an excellent post today that addresses this question quite adeptly! Check it out!
I think some lesbians come off as man haters and some actually are, but any stereotype is reflected on the whole population because people don’t see much of lesbians in general and so any bit they can grab onto they run with,

Wow, thanks for the link. I am a secret reader of yours and I enjoy all of your posts. I find many people can’t get humor especially if they know a gay person wrote it. I’m not sure why. Go figure.

I think the stereotype may also come from that a lot of men out there think that if the lesbian just made sweet sweet love with them then they would be straight.
When the ol ego get dashed and the man gets turned down flat it was due to lesbians just hate men.
