As reported through Just Out Blog and the Gay Rights Watch blog, Basic Rights Oregon has filed appeals with the State Supreme Court regarding the State Attorney General’s approved ballot titles for Initiatives 144 and 145 (146 did not seem to be mentioned at this point).
This is great news for our LGBT community and for Oregon Equality! But potentially not so good news for Concerned Oregonians. Evidently, in addition to the appeal shortening their potential time to gather enough signatures, Concerned Oregonians is having trouble raising enough money for their repeal efforts (as reported by Amy Ruiz at Blogtown PDX).
I love Amy’s quote at the bottom of her post:
“Do people not hate the gays as much as they used to? Or have folks realized that domestic partnerships for same sex couples—which have been legal since February 4—hasn’t caused the downfall of civilization?”

I think that it is simply the long reaching arm of the lord helping out those who need it the most…US! Poor little babies.
